Snowboarding

Hey Guys!!

Guess what? I just came from Lake Louise yesterday and I forgot to bring my camera with me hehe! what a shame

Anyways, I had loads and loads of fun there! Me and my friends took off of Calgary at about 7:30 from the house and picked up the rest of our friends then we hit the road. As we went along the road, we listened to music and chatted about diff. kinds of things and how will Canada be a great place later on cuz of the many potentials it has. Anyways, as soon as we arrived at Lake Louise we went straight to the mountains where people were skiing and snowboarding. I absolutely had a blast snowboarding. I've tried snowboarding on the path way which has like 4 colors: green, blue, orange, and black I think. I've tried the green and the black which was really extreme and declined :P but I handled it well. Later on, me and my friends went to the back of the mountain which was totally a different thing than the rest of the mountain, simply it was gorgeous!! and dangerous so I had to be careful. I went on like for maybe 4 runs or so, then at the end of the day all the guys met together to go Banff, but wait!!! where the heck are the gurls!! we stood their waiting for them for almost an hour but nobody turned up! so we decided to go the guest services and they helped us find them. One of the girls was too slow hehe so they had to keep along with her until they got down.

After that, we went to Banff and we spent the rest of the day there in the hott springs and we had Mexican food for dinner!! it was a long day but I sure loved it.

Movin' Out

By the end of April, I'll be moving my stuff to my new host family place. Going to Varsity Estate.

I've been staying here in this small little house which is located near the river for 3 months by the end of this month. I have really stayed in the room i'm typing in the meantime for almost most of the time I've been in Calgary. I mean it's your room, so you gotta stay in it doing your homework, sleeping, or even play with my PSP!! I am going to really miss it when I move out to the new homestay. Well, as everybody knows, moving to another place always makes you anxious because you don't know what is going to be next, or what is the state of mind you'll be in cuz you're living in a totally different place, a totally different kind of environment, and most importantly different kind of food ;P. This family, the Acosta's, are a very kind and a very giving family, and they took a very good care of me. Considering that I'm a new student in Calgary, they provided some cozy, intimate atmospheres that helped me to forget feeling homesick. One thing I like the most about the Acosta's is their house location because it is located 6 mins away from the university by the bus, and transportation was very comfy for me.

The new family lives in Varsity Estate, which is considered to be an old neighbourhood in the North West of Calgary. It is near Dalhousie c-train station, which is good cuz I just have to move my butt to the station and go directly to the U of C. The father of this family is an old retired teacher, and the Mum is also retired. Behind the house there's a Golf field which is awesome because I like golf, and I can observe how do they play it. I am also thinking of buying a bicycle to ease my moving. And I heard summer in Calgary is very lovely, so biking would be very cool.

Just wish me luck guys with my new family!!

Green, green, Greeeeeeen

The passing weekend was mostly green! not only were the trees green, not only were some people's eyes green, but almost everybody in Calgary wore green this passing weekend.

The thing behind this was that Ireland was celebrating an occasion they have, (I'm not sure if it is the National Day of Ireland), the Sympatric's day (dunno if the spelling is correct ;p). But what was cool about it is that you could see everybody wearing the same green color, and everybody was enjoying their time celebrating this day by drinking, dancing, partying :P, and singing. Some automobile companies are celebrating the occasion as I heard. I think it is really cool that like a lot of countries are taking a part in the ceremony, and tryna have a good time by living the special atmospheres. But you guys know what? I didn't know that it was Sympatric's day until I asked the people why the heck are you wearing green! hehe, it was kinda embarrassing but I really enjoyed the Irish spirits, and their funny cool accent :P. So yea as the s0ng says: "Green, green, greeeen" not "Dream, dream, dreaaaam" :P

GREEN ON PEOPLE

Cheers

Video Games

Today, I'm going to talk about one of my other hobbies which is VIDEO GAMES.

I think the first video game that I had was the first old fat gray Game Boy!! I remember playing Super Mario all the time, and the worst about the game is that if you lose, you're gonna have to play all over again starting from the first stage.

Then, the I moved to the Super Nintendo! ahh this just brings back memories :D
This game was so sophisticated at that time that any one who had it was so cool and stuff! Well, I remember that my most favorite game was Soccer. This game will be soooo boring if you play it it now. But back at that time, the game just seemed so cool and I really enjoyed playing it even though the player consumed 3000 hundred yrs to pass the ball! ugh

Later on, the PlayStation age began. This game made a really very huge success, and made a tremendous reputation because people all over the world were familiar with it and got one!

PlayStation has three famous money-maker games which are: PlayStation 1 (PS1), PlayStation 2 (PS2), PlayStation Portable (PSP).

Well if you wanna talk about what games to play in PlayStation, you'll need a red carpet to write on the names of the games. But I'm gonna have to say that the most famous games are: Crash the wolf, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, and Wining Eleven, and FIFA.

I really can't get rid of this hobby though I'm 18 now, and I never will. :D

Nike

Nike as I mentioned in my previous blog, is one of the most famous international shoes and snickers companies. Today, I'm gonna talk about its history and its status these days.

Nike takes its name from the Greek Goddess of Victory. Nike sportsline mainly has three different kinds of products which are Nike Golf, Nike Pro, and Air Jordan.

Nike™ can be found in every single sport. Mainly, soccer and basketball are sponsored by Nike. And many players such as Ronhaldino, Michael Jordan, and Cristiano Ronaldo did many commercials for Nike's products.

The date in which the company was established was probably in the 1960s, and the company is still running in the moment I'm typing.

Many athletes in the world grant Nike as their first choice for their sports equipment and shoes. Nike really deserves it because it's a really innovative company, and it is ahead in the industry than most of the other trademarks.

Footwear Trademarks

hello people.

Today, I wanted to blog about something that I like to.. well collect :P. It's SHOES!! I just love to buy shoes hehehe... I can't help it, it's just something I had inside me since I was a lil kid.

There are many footwear trademarks. My favorite ones currently are Puma, Adidas, Nike, and Timberland.

Well, to start with, Puma company has the slogan of the famous leopard that maybe represents strength and determination. Puma has a fashion line of clothing as well. In the recent years, Puma has witnessed a big boom in its business as they produced new styles. I sure took the bait of their new fashion line!!

Then, we've got the Nike company. The slogan of Nike is the Right mark. Nike is considered to be one of the oldest shoes company, and exact day of its departure was approximately in 1959. Nike has a distinguishing feature of proving the athletic style. The trademark has several styles, especially in their sports shoes. The most successful type was Nike Air. A lot of people admired the Nike Air for it was stylish and comfortable.

Moving along to Adidas, the Adidas's success can be compared to the Nike's. I don't know, but I always felt that they were related in some way. The Adidas footwear and clothings can be seen worn by a lot of people. The famous three lines symbolize Adidas. But one thing that i don't get is the slogan. For God's sake can you stick with one slogan! they have like 3 different kinds of slogans but I like them all :D!

Hope I blablad usefully for ya ;)

See you later.

Hard Snow

Hello my friends.

One thing that gets me really pissed off is the hard snow! gee I hate it lol because it just looks so innocent and white, but when you step onto it bang! you do the arms show thing trying to gain back ur balance! ugh I had a bad experience with it!

I heard from a lot of people that the hard snow is one of Canada's most dangrous accidents causors. I think that is very true. Hard snow causes instability to the vehicle. Therefore, a speedy car or a truck could end up flipped up in the middle of the road.

My advice to all of those who are on the road, and the ones who are walking backhome (like me) is to be extremely CAUTIOUS!! you could get a serious injury or something bad could happen and you don't want that!

Going Abroad

Hello there,

One thing that I noticed in Canada is that a lot of students go outside of their provinces for tourism or to visit their relatives. This thing is cool actually, as they could get the chance to have some fun and meet the peole they love. But I dunno I think this idea is a bit destractive for me cause going abroad needs a lot of preparation and effort.

Another problem during the reading week is time management. Making a time table for youself to know when to study and when to play could be a challenge because sticking to it is kinda hard. But, you can't have your cake and eat two as they say. So everybody should keep in mind that reading is to study not to have a smokin' hot time people! haha

But anyway just relax and take everything easy to excel ;)

Working Out

Working out in the gym or anywhere else is something that the body requires to obtain an excellent health. The U of C has a monster gym in the Kenesiology center where I go daily to work out and practice various sports. Different parts of the body needs pecific types of excersize, and the amout of muscle depends on the type of excersize as well.

First, we've got the chest workout. The chest workout is mostly the hardest one of all. There are three different muscles in the chest, the upper chest muscle, the chest muscle (the middle one), and the round cut muscle.

Second, there is the back and shoulders excersize. The back muscles include: the upper part, and the lower back. While working out the back muscles, you also workout the biceps. Working the triceps has a different type of excersize. The shoulders muscles has a triangle shape, and it is consisted of one muscle, but alot of athletes try to build shoulders muschles cause it just looks good!

Third, there's the legs workout. The legs workout requires a lot of effort, and that's why people make a special day for the legs workout. The leg is consisted of three muscles, which are: the front muscule, the back muscle, and the lower leg muscle.

Last but not least, the abs are very important to make a strong straight body. Therefore, athletes use different posetions to train the abs muscles. After working the abs out for a while, you will develop what is commonly known as a "6 pac".

MuziK

Hey all!
This week i thought of posting something that has a big part of my life! which is _- Music -_
I have loved music since a really long time, well ( i'm 17 so, hehe). I started with listening to Arabic music cause im originally from Kuwait. After a while, when i entered my 10s hehe, English music began to attract my attention. Actually, i remembe that Backstreet Boys was the first band that i "loved". I began singin' songs that i didn't understand its lyrics cause simply i just liked the songs! Gradually afterwards, i began to get into different kinds of music, such as rock, rap, r&b, and etc. Without knowing it, i began to gain a big deal of my English language from actually music!
Another thing that made me get more attached to music, is the fact that music helped me express my happines and sadness and most of the emotions that i had! seriously, i used to listen to the songs that went with my mood and the way i felt. So, music has been a good friend for me since a long time! yep it was and still is.
Of course my iPod would blow my head if it had to use me to listen to music! haha, cause i really make it suffer with through the hours that i listen to it throuh!

The Rockies

This is past weekend I visited the rocky mountains. Visiting them was an experience that I'll forget in my life! We arrived on Friday night at a late time. However, as soon as we arrived there we went straightly to Lake Louise, where people usually skate at this time of the year because it's frozen!!! We played with the snow balls and had some hot chocolate that night.. then we went into along conversation till we fell asleep! heheThe next day was great from the begining to the end, as we had a swim in the pool, the hot spa and the steaming room. Afterwards, we went to Lake Louise and skied there, where all the cute girls were hehe! well, gotta admit that I'm not the best skiier but I can manage my self :PLater on, we headed to Banff, where we had lunch and went shopping as well. The day passed fastly till the time came and we went to the Hot Springs Hotel, where all of the celebraties were staying!! but guess what? we haven't seen one hair of any celebraty :(. Nevertheless, we had a dip in the hot springs which is an amazing experience, because ur staying in the hot water and in the same time ur head is in the cold weather! isn't that just cool!!?

First Blog: I have passion English (Do I?)

First of all, I'm just joking cause I love English. I think this blog idea is a great one. Blogs can be a good way to indicate what happens in everbody's life everyday and the experiences that he goes on everyday. This can be a brealient way to improve your English fluency, as you blog at least once a week. All your classmates and the people who are inerested in you can now see what's happening in your own life. I entered the LEAP progam on the begining of this January, and so for I believe that it's a very graceful experience, also an effecient program that I would recommend very strongly that can improve and cover all the English areas. Meeting new friends and different kinds of people is another thing you can benifit from this program as you'll crash into them everyday and participate among your classmates. I did the placement test and the results showed that I'm in Level 4a with the insructers: Scott Dougles, Dr. Sangupta, Pam Kapur. I find them very friendly&fun, and they do take their job very seriously, and they do whatever is good for the students' sake such as activities and several tests to improve our skills, but sometimes I can feel the tricks they do in class to see what's the student's level in English so..(I caught you Guys :D).
